Conductor

For almost as long as I’ve been singing, I’ve also had a passion for leading others in singing. My experience in conducting has grown from this, with an holistic approach that focusses on getting the most from chorister’s voices based on my own learning from vocal coaches over the years.  

I’ve also found that as much as choristers need good musical guidance and expertise, they often need plenty of the non-musical things – encouragement, humour, understanding and good communication.  

I have held a number of positions with choirs of varying abilities and currently lead Concordia, an SATB choir based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and Swadlincote Messiah Society, who meet annually for a performance of Handel’s masterwork.
